COTTAGE SCHOOL
I run a tiny cottage school four mornings a week. This is aimed at children who learn differently and whose needs are not met within conventional schools.
I use an integrated studies approach to teaching, incorporating a range of skills into thematic units. Tasks are differentiated to each pupil's skills and needs and there is an emphasis on practical learning as far as possible.
As of 2020, I have started offering a specialist UK based series of courses geared at children who are unlikely to attain a matric or equivalent. These courses are portfolio based courses teaching real life skills.

Individulised Curriculum
Please contact Learnign Kat for our fee structure.
I not only support children completing the National Curriculum, but am able to devise and implement individualised curricula, suitable to specific needs of individual children.
This may include:
-
teaching life skills in order to allow for independent living
-
tayloring a curriculum to suit behaviour management and mental health issues that impact on the child's ability to follow the National Curriculum
-
Working with the child's interests and preferred learning styles in order to aid with development of key skills in literacy, numeracy and life skills.
Development of such a curriculum caters for children coming for once a week assistance, as well as those not able to be accommodated within a school.
